 This website was set up in March, 2005 as a way for Kate to communicate to her friends and family after being diagnosed with Lung Cancer. Katie was a 25 year old nonsmoking woman when she was diagnosed with Lung Cancer.

This Co-ed event takes place on Saturday July 26th. 11am at Silver Lakes Country Club in Orland Park Illinois
$100 Per player includes:
Golf Fees and Cart
BBQ Lunch
6 drink tickets (Beer, Wine, Soda or Water)
Entrance into Team, Long Drive and Closest to the Pin Prizes.
This is a best ball scramble format. Meaning everyone tee's off and then they select the best shot. Everyone then hits from that spot. Repeating over and over.
Help us make this years event the largest yet.

Running for Katie Many of you already know and love our own Elizabeth Light, one of Katie’s very good friends from Lake Forest College. “E” shared several of Katie’s passions like shamrock shakes, college basketball, Crocodile Hunter impersonations, and the company of good friends. She is an avid distance runner and last year completed the Chicago Marathon with a personal best time of 5 hours and 4 minutes. This year she will be running for Katie. |

JUST BECAUSE you never smoked, don't think you won't get lung cancer. Lung cancer is the leading cancer killer of both men and women in the United States, accounting for 30 percent of all cancer deaths. It takes more lives than breast, ovarian, prostate, and colon cancer combined. Its link to smoking has made lung cancer an underdiagnosed and underfunded disease. With 15 percent of these 160,000 annual deaths attributed to nonsmokers, it is time for that to change. The recent death of Dana Reeve has brought attention to the fact that there is an increase of lung cancer in nonsmokers, especially in women. Eighty percent of all nonsmoking lung cancer patients are women. |
